1.  In your opinion, what was the purpose of this blogging activity? (Why did I choose to do blogging instead of more traditional writing activities?)

I think the purpose of this blog is to help us write with voice. We were used to writing as essays or stories, so we never had much voice in our papers. The reason that voice is important is because it helps you get out your opinions and thoughts. It also lets you speak without the fear of being ridiculed or getting in trouble with a higher authority. Blogging also helps you communicate and spread your ideas and knowledge throughout the world. You can interact with others with similar or different believes and have discussions with them through blogging. Blogging is also a good experience for our generation because we will need to know a little about technology to last in the future. It also helps us develop the the habit of expressing our opinions as well as experimenting with new technology.

2.  What have you accomplished during your blogging?

I found out what subjects’ interest me a lot. Even though you like to discuss a certain opinion, that does not mean it would interest you in blogging. Blogging is writing about your ideas or knowledge that you have, but you won’t necessarily get comments and discussions on them. When I started my blog, I wrote about Hinduism, but I got very tired of it. I like to have religious debates for fun sometimes, but when I do that I learn about other things as well as think quick for a rebuttal. In blogging you can still learn, but it takes longer and you can take as long as you like to answer back. After I had experienced this, I decided to change the topic of my blog to games, which was fun to write and more people would enjoy the information.

3.  What key concepts have you learned while blogging? (This can be about writing, research or technology etc.)

I learned more about technology than I learned about anything else. I learned the basics of making a website; such as tagging my blogs, making cluster maps, and managing what goes on in the site. I also found out how to get your site on Google (tags). I did not research a lot, but I did learn how important it is to write about game designers when I had to critic them. I had to research for that, mainly. I also learned that writing a review has to reach all audiences. It can be easy and fun to write, but that hinders you when you want to write to all audiences. Some of the words and language that you use can be too childlike for adult audiences, and too complicated for the younger audiences. I learned to balance my blogs out so that everybody will not only understand them, but also enjoy reading them.

4. Based on the skills you learned while blogging, how will this benefit you in the future? This maybe inside or outside of school.

During our generation, there will be many technological advancements. Apple, for instance, keeps coming up with new updates and models of what used to be the same basic appliance. The classic iPod updated into the iPod Mini, which then updated into the iPod Video, Shuffle, Nano, iTouch, and iPhone. Even those updates got updated so that they are a lot different from their originals. The iPod Nano has gotten a lot smaller and can hold videos, which is very different from the original iPod Nano. All of this change happened in a matter of years. If technology keeps changing this rapidly, we will need to know the basics of them to last in the world.

Another way that blogging would help us in the future is that it will grow us the habit of expressing ourselves. We will learn to communicate with others more efficiently as well as knowing when and where to say something. In Qatar, you cannot celebrate a religion other than Islam in non designated areas (churches). You can’t even celebrate in your own homes legally. Blogging also helps increase our social lives just like any other program that uses the Internet for communication like Facebook and MSN Messenger.
